About Us

St. Petersburg Pediatrics in Pinellas County has been in Primary Care Pediatrics for over forty-five years!

We are a team of board-certified Pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants that treat children from birth to 18 years of age. We currently have 9 offices located throughout the Tampa Bay area, 8 of them located right here in Pinellas County. All of our offices include state certified lab facilities with a medical director on site. We perform a range of tests, from CBCs (Complete Blood Counts) to Strep Tests, Flu Tests, Cholesterol Tests, Vision and Hearing Tests.

These tests provide the basic information for the doctor to make an informed decision regarding treatment. You don’t have to go to a lab or hospital – this saves you time and effort and relieves stress, as the child is in an environment he/she knows.

Our Founder

Mariano D. Cibran, M.D. received his Medical Degree at the University of Seville College of Medicine, Spain in 1973 and completed his Residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1977. He gained valuable experience during his Pediatric Residency at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, in 1977. In 1977 he founded St. Petersburg Pediatrics which has grown in 35 years into a large pediatric practice with nine clinics serving families in both Pinellas and Hillsborough County. Dr. Cibran also served as the supervisor of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, from 1977-1986 and the supervisor of the Sickle Cell Clinic in St Petersburg in 1986.

In the role of Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida from 1986-1990, Dr. Cibran shared his medical knowledge and experience with upcoming pediatricians. He was Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Florida, and was involved with the Academy Prep Center in St. Petersburg that encourages children from difficult backgrounds to successfully graduate from school. Since children are products of the society and community in which they live, Dr. Cibran is involved in community projects that contribute to the well-being of parents and their children.

He and his son Michael Cibran are Peacemakers for CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse). They were also a part of “What about Mom”, a Pinellas County Health Department program that helps new mothers with concerns such as blood pressure screening, birth control, weight management, and nutrition.
