Our first session starts with thorough bloodwork and physical assessment to evaluate your child's health. Following that, we will meet with the family to develop a tailored plan.

Nutrition is vital for a child's health and weight management. A balanced diet with diverse nutrients supports growth and reduces obesity risk while strengthening the immune system to better fight illnesses.

Exercise is essential for preteens and teenagers for healthy development and weight management, requiring a balance of cardio and strength training. This combination enhances physical and mental well-being, reduces stress, improves mood, and boosts self-esteem, promoting a healthier lifestyle and lasting habits.

What Will My Sessions Look Like?

During the Healthy Kick-Start Center you can anticipate both in-person and virtual appointments to monitor your child’s progress and connect with your medical team. Additionally, you will be encouraged to establish your patient portal for ongoing communication with your team throughout the program.

Session 1:

Session 1 - Will kick off with a meet and greet involving the family and the medical home team. The medical team will review health data to assess weight-related health concerns and discuss the family's weight loss objectives. Patients will depart with lab orders in hand and a scheduled appointment for Session 2.

This tailored plan will focus on the needs of your child and family, encompassing aspects of nutrition, exercise, and counseling.

Session 3:

Session 3 - Will continue our discussion on the tailored plan and will introduce an exploration of current lifestyles along with positive lifestyle changes. We will delve into the specifics of both successes and challenges.

The Medical team will request information regarding any changes you’ve experienced since our last session. We will also explore any additional interventions that may be necessary, including counseling or medication additions or adjustments.

Session 4 -Future Sessions:

Session 4 - Future Session - These sessions are designed to offer a continuation and regular check-in regarding the patient's progress and the program's effectiveness. Based on the tailored plan, the medical team may request food diaries, exercise logs, counseling conversations, or ongoing lab tests to track progress and ensure successful outcomes!
